Message from Our Chief Executive Officer

Dear friends and colleagues,

Looking back on 2025, it’s clear that any progress we make in health care depends on moving forward—together. In a year shaped by volatility, uncertainty and complexity across Washington and the country, partnership and collaboration were not optional, they were essential to meeting community needs and sustaining access to care.

With publicly funded health care on the front lines of state and federal budget talks, our staff joined with colleagues in other similar health plans, community-based organizations, and Community Health Centers (CHCs) advocating for the safety net services that our Medicaid, Medicare, and Marketplace members rely on.

Federal actions have made it difficult for many communities to feel safe accessing health care. We remained nimble in our efforts to deliver care, with our locally based Community Health Workers meeting people in their homes, their clinics and in their communities, while other efforts focused on resources to meet the growing demand for food, shelter, and other social needs.

Together, we invested in care coordination across systems and settings, improved quality, and expanded access to virtual care while centering our work around member and community voices. These efforts reflect the power of managed care when accountability, trust, and collaboration are aligned.

I am deeply grateful to our members, Community Health Centers, Tribal partners, community organizations, and the CHPW teams who demonstrate every day what it means to lead with trust, compassion, and shared responsibility.

Upcoming policy changes will continue to challenge health care delivery. However, our path remains clear. We will continue to strengthen partnerships, invest in community-driven solutions, and work together to ensure care across Washington is accessible, coordinated, and rooted in the voices of the people we serve. Progress depends on unity—and together, we are building a healthier future for Washington.
