With a legacy of more than 60 years in the making, the Community Health Center (CHC) movement began as a journey of building power among people within their unique communities.
Today, Community Health Centers represent the largest network of primary care providers in America.
Community Health Centers serve:
- 1 in 11 people in the U.S. including:
- 1 in 9 children and adolescents
- 1 in 4 racial and ethnic minorities
- 1 in 6 Medicaid beneficiaries
- 1 in 5 uninsured persons
- 1 in 3 people in poverty
Today is patient appreciation day. As a thank you to all CHC patients, CHPW is proud to sponsor refreshments and back-to-school supplies at Yakima Neighborhood Health Services (YNHS) for their events on today, August 7 in Yakima and tomorrow, August 8 in Sunnyside.
YNHS is just one of the 21 CHCs that provide services to our members all across Washington. We are also proud to sponsor a series of events to honor employees and patients at Community Health Center of Snohomish County (CHC).
National Health Center Week is a project of the National Association of Community Health Centers.
