Rain or shine the Bellingham community celebrated the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly-opened The Way Station on October 8, 2024. CHPW has been a partner and supporter of the project, and we couldn’t be more honored to have one of our Community Health Centers (CHCs), Unity Care NW, lead the way for this to become a reality.
Unity Care NW operates the Clinical and Hygiene Program, offering services such as medical, behavioral health, case management, and substance use care. The Way Station represents a beacon of light for those in need, offering a place of refuge and assistance.
CHPW Account Manager Jeff Franco serves the Bellingham area and said, “The Way Station is a much-needed resource for those experiencing homelessness in Bellingham, providing a safe space for individuals to access services and support. It’s not just a building but a symbol of compassion and support for those who need it most. The ribbon cutting was a symbol of new beginnings and a brighter future for the community of Bellingham.”
Thank you, WHATCOM COUNTY, Opportunity Council, Unity Care NW, PeaceHealth, and everyone that has and will contribute to this incredible community endeavor.
