CHPW Welcomes Didgwalic Wellness Center

Since our founding more than 30 years ago, Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW) has worked to treat each of our members as a whole person.

That means respecting the individual needs, experiences, and goals of our members. For members who identify as Native American or Alaska Native, this means you can choose to see a Tribal Health provider or one of our network providers.

One of the new providers that Native American or Alaska Native members can visit is the Didgwalic Wellness Center. The Didgwalic Wellness Center is an integrated health care center provided by the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community.

Their approach is to provide quality care solutions designed for the whole person without barriers to treatment and is available to all community members from Island, Skagit, and Whatcom Counties.

They provide a multitude of services, including outpatient treatment services for:

  • Substance use
  • Mental health counseling
  • Psychiatric medication management
  • Primary medical care
  • Dental care
  • Medication-assisted treatment
  • Gambling counseling and education
  • DUI/deferred prosecution
  • Free transportation
  • On-site child watch

They also offer Traditional Indian Medicine (Talking Circle) for specific group meetings. They are the first in the state to provide a fully integrated substance-use treatment center.
